DAIKI CHUJO
(EA/NCAS Qualified Coach, International Competitor and Racehorse Trainer)

Hambach CICDaiki was born in Saitama, Japan and didn’t see a real horse until he was 14 years old, but as soon as he started riding he realised it was going to become a passion. By 16 Daiki discovered that Japan wasn’t the best place to learn more about riding so he moved to Australia and enrolled in the Australian Racing Industry Training Centre, to train as a jockey.

After graduating the racing school Daiki decided to continue with horses but more along the lines of coaching and the Olympic disciplines, so he gained his EA Level 1 and started dressage and eventing.

IMG_1195The dream continued as this determined young man took himself off to England where he worked for Andrew and Bettina Hoy for a couple of years before returning back to Australia. Daiki, who worked closely with Vicki Roycroft and Heath and Rozzie Ryan after returning to the country, has represented Japan at the Asian Pacific Challenge where he finished second.

After competing at 3 star level of eventing in Australia, Daiki had another shot to Europe, this time to Germany with his eventing horse from Australia. The pair competed successfully in international classes throughout the Europe and gained the first reserve spot for his country, Japan, at the Asian Games. While Daiki was in Germany, he was based and worked with the two Olympians, Dirk Schrade and Yoshiaki Oiwa. His fundamental method of training is greatly influenced by these two great trainers.

IMG_0069Now back in Australia, he went to work for the Group 1 Racehorse trainers, Kris Lees and Paul Perry to gain his experience in the Thoroughbred industry. After spending sometime with the knowledgable trainers, he felt it was the right time to apply for his trainer’s licence and to set up his own Equestrian/Racing centre. Now he’s very excited to have a beautiful property on the Tweed Coast where he can operate his on going dream, training international class equestrian and race horses.
