KT Wisdom (Filly, 3, by Headwater) claimed he victory on April 24 in a turf maiden race over 800m at Ipswich Racecourse (total prize money: AUD 30,000).
She broke sharply from the gate, used her inside draw to push up to the lead, and held off her rivals in a tight finish down the stretch.
Nori commented, “Since we had the inside draw, I pushed her forward from the start. Based on previous races under similar conditions, I was confident she could sustain her run over the 800 meters. The going today wasn’t as heavy as the Heavy 10 we had last time, so she handled it better.”
Daiki added, “The draw, competition, and distance all aligned well this time, so I focused solely on sending her out in top condition. Races over 800 meters in Queensland often feature sprint specialists who all break quickly. I was hoping KT Wisdom would get a good start too. While it was just the normal break, the jockey guided her skillfully to secure the lead along the inside rail, which I believe was the key to victory. Depending on how she pulls up after the race, we may consider entering her in the 860m race at Gatton on Thursday, April 29.”
