Cyclone Alfred has caused significant disruption as the largest typhoon to hit eastern Australia in 51 years. The southeastern region of Queensland and the northern coastal areas of New South Wales were particularly affected, with reports of severe damage and ongoing confusion across many areas. Around 330,000 households in the Brisbane area experienced power outages, and fallen trees and flooding caused major disruptions to transportation networks. Additionally, panic buying occurred in local supermarkets, leading to shortages of essential daily goods.

Due to these conditions, multiple horse racing events were canceled, and the Magic Millions sale scheduled to take place on the Gold Coast was postponed for two weeks to ensure safety. Officials stated that “the postponement is a necessary measure to conduct the sale safely.”

At Japanoz Stables, we also prioritized the safety of our staff and horses, resulting in a five-day suspension of training on the track. Consequently, race preparations for our horses were significantly restricted, creating a very challenging situation. However, despite the unpredictable nature of natural disasters, we made the best possible decisions, and we are pleased to report that our stable operations have now fully returned to normal.

We kindly ask for our owners’ understanding and continued support during this time. Moving forward, our team will remain dedicated to maintaining the conditioning and preparation of our horses, striving to deliver strong performances in upcoming races.

Thank you for your continued support and encouragement.
