Purchased at the Tattersalls yearling sale for €105,000 by the Sydney Metropolitan stable connections with the vision of rising him to be a competitive old stayer in Australia.

Unfortunately at the busy metropolitan stable in Sydney, he didn’t get a real opportunity to be tested out his ability in the right age and distances where he was believed to excel. Some of his former owners had thought the same way as we did when we purchased him, and happily kept their shares to race him with us.

ADESSO is by the Englis&Irish Derby winner AUSTRALIA (GALILEO x OUIJA BOARD, the European Champion Mare) who as a sire, has produced numerous G1 horses including ORDER OF AUSTRALIA, BROOM and etc.

His Dam FOR NOW(unraced) is by the French sire LAWMAN, who carries the successful bloodline in Australia, INVINSBLE SPIRIT.

FOR NOW is a half sister to the multiple Black type winners and her dam line is closely related to this year’s English&Irish Derby winner AUGUSTE RODIN(DEEP IMPACT), Breeders Cup Juvenile winner VICTORIA ROAD(SAXON WARRIOR) and numerous G1 winners and performers.

ADESSO will be trained at Ballina Stable aiming to be competitive at the Brisbane Metropolitan staying races, as well as having an eye on heading back to where he came from- Sydney races which could be Highway races or Country featured races.

Our stable goal is to have a runner in Japan Cup. Japan Racing Association is on a hunt for getting overseas horses to come to Japan Cup, as it’s getting less and less overseas horses to make a trip because of the high level of competition in the Japanese stayers races. Therefore even winning a G2 or G3 staying races in Australia could attract JRA to send an invitation for the Cup. It’s a closer dream than what everyone feels. Hopefully ADESOO could be the one!
