Zaynudin (7yo gelding by Fastnet Rock) secured his first win in Australia in the NBN News Stayers Cup (Ballina Racecourse, 2670m, prize money $27,000). Born at the Aga Khan Studs in Ireland, Zaynudin initially raced exclusively in Ireland over distances exceeding 2000m, notching one win from seven starts. He later moved to Melbourne, where he was diagnosed with Kissing Spine, a condition causing the vertebrae to abnormally touch and create friction or collision. Despite a series of races punctuated by the surgery and spellings for recovery, he was eventually purchased by the owner of Japanoz Stable through an online auction.
When Zaynudin first arrived at the stable, his back muscles were notably stiff. Applying thorough equestrian exercises to ease his muscles and improve his flexibility seemed to help his issues. For his first race for Japanoz stable, Nori took the reins, adopting a patient strategy by keeping him at the back to conserve energy before showcasing a strong closing kick to finish second. This impressive effort laid the groundwork for his current success, achieving victory in his third start since the stable transfer.
Looking ahead, the team is considering a rotation that includes long-distance metropolitan races. Working with a variety of horses provides valuable learning experiences for both staffs and jockey. At Japanoz Stable, the commitment to producing results with every horse remains strong, and the team will continue to collaborate and strive for excellence.
