2024 Inglis Easter Sale
Wednesday April 24th, 2024 General
I attended the Easter Sale in Sydney held in April. This sale, much like a select sale in Japan, is a prestigious auction where horses with the highest pedigrees in Australia gather. You may have seen it in the news, but a foal of Winx was sold for 10 million dollars. While the owner of Winx eventually bought her back, there was a fierce bidding war with a buyer from the United States, creating a special atmosphere in the venue. It was impressive to see the auctioneer caring for the foal by asking for restraint in applause when she was sold, noting her young age and sensitivity to noise. Even …
True Fairy’s Australian Oaks challenge
Tuesday April 16th, 2024 General
True Fairy challenged the G1 Australian Oaks. After the G1 Vinery Stud Stakes, she returned to Ballina briefly before coming back to Sydney, with a rotation of just one week. Despite feeling like her preparation went smoothly before the race, she finished 10th out of 10 horses, and I wondered if there was some invisible fatigue present. Nevertheless, by finishing the race not too far behind some of Australia’s top-class middle-distance fillies, I was able to reaffirm her ability. The winning horse of the Oaks, Autumn Angel, is trained by Peter Moody, who is also famous for training the legendary Black Caviar in Australian racing history. Autumn Angel was stabled …
True Fairy’s Next Challenge the Vinery Stud Stakes
Monday March 25th, 2024 General
On March 17th, True Fairy, who claimed victory at Grafton Racecourse, has decided to take on the Vinery Stud Stakes. This race, a Group 1 race exclusive to 3yo fillies, will be held at Rosehill Racecourse with a full field of 14 entrants. The Sydney Autumn Carnival, which commenced in March, features a plethora of prestigious races on its lineup. With the carnival currently buzzing with excitement, next week will see Japan’s Obanburumai competing in a G1 race, while last week witnessed the prestigious Golden Slipper, boasting the world’s highest 2yo race prize money. Despite the high caliber of competition during the carnival’s G1 races, True Fairy will enter the …
2nd Winner for True Fairy
Wednesday March 20th, 2024 General
True Fairy secured her second victory at Grafton Racecourse. With the third outermost barrier draw, I knew the race wouldn’t be easy. Starting the race, she settled towards the rear, even maintaining that position at the 600m mark, which brought some concern. However, True Fairy made a remarkable move on the outside coming in to the straight, she effortlessly surged past the competition Jockey Nori commented, “After discussing with the stable, we aimed to have an easy win if possible, aligning with the standard for the race in two weeks. We had to drop back in position during the race, and as the horse I was following wasn’t a strong …

Dual Bonus Scheme eligible colt
Wednesday March 13th, 2024 General
The Gold Coast March Yearling Sale has concluded. Over the course of two days, horses primarily from Queensland were featured. On the first day, prices remained stable, with many being privately acquired by the farms. However, on the second day, the typical Magic Millions-like excitement returned. The horse that I, in consultation with my trusted agent, favored is a colt by Pariah with lot number 344, and we were able to secure it for $17,000. The dam, I’m Going (by Trusting), achieved one victory during her active career. I emphasized acquiring high-quality horses at reasonable prices. The attraction extended beyond the overall physique and pedigree, as the bonuses from BOBS …
The victory of Saxon Brave marks a significant 100th win for stallion Saxon Warrior!!
Sunday March 10th, 2024 General
Saxon Brave won in the maiden event at Grafton Racecourse. This 3-year-old colt, from the Classic Sale, had shown potential but had been consistently finishing in second or third place in previous races, making this triumph a relief. The race distance was 1700m, and jockey McGuren, who rode Saxon Brave, commented after the race, “The leader set a good pace, allowing me to comfortably settle in second place with a good rhythm. It seems that extending the distance even further could bring out more from him.” In the future, races with longer distances will be chosen based on the jockey’s recommendation, and further success is anticipated. Interestingly, this victory marked …
Joe Fujii to finish his riding career in Kyoto
Saturday February 24th, 2024 General
I recently came back to Japan for family-related reasons. During that time, I attended the retirement ceremony of jockey Joe Fujii held at Kyoto Racecourse. Fujii and I spent time together at the racing school in Murwillumbah, Australia, and we worked hard together from a young age. When he was taking the JRA jockey exam, I provided riding lessons and supported him within my capabilities. During the ceremony, the warm cheers and applause from the fans at Kyoto Racecourse left a lasting impression. Although his time based in Japan was a relatively short period of five years, it seems he had a wonderful experience. My goal was initially to achieve …
Kaytee Attractive to be sold to Hong Kong
Saturday February 24th, 2024 General
Kaytee Attractive, a horse purchased at last year’s Inglis Classic sale, won impressively in the barrier trial before receiving an offer from a Hong Kong agent expressing interest from a local owner. After consulting with all the co-owners, it was decided to dissolve the partnership and proceed with the sale. The discussions went smoothly, and after leaving the stable, the horse will be moved to the quarantine facility in Sydney, where it will undergo a two-week quarantine before being air-transported to Hong Kong. It is regrettable that the horse couldn’t race from my stable, but I want to express my sincere gratitude for the ownerships and support of Kaytee Attractive. …
Purchasing at the Classic Sale
Wednesday February 14th, 2024 General
We found some great horses at Sydney’s Inglis Classic Sale which is well known that this sale has produced many G1 horses. The roster of the sale, which in previous years was divided into two sections, was combined into one this year and many horses were listed. We had the blood stock agent from Japan came and checked all the horses with us, and then made a short list. As a result, we won the bid for two horses, after being the under bidder for 9 times. The winning bidders those we lost, were mainly major syndicate companies and large stables in Sydney and Melbourne who were looking for G1 …
