The five-day Grafton Cup Carnival kicked off last week. Today, the carnival is bustling with many visitors, making it a significant historical event for the town. The main races are the Ramornie Handicap (1200m, total prize money of 200,000 AUD) on the 17th and the Grafton Cup (2350m, total prize money of 200,000 AUD) on the 18th. Horses and jockeys from Sydney, which is unusual for this region, have come to Grafton for the high-stakes races.
On the second day of the carnival, three horses from Japanoz stable participated in the races. In the Benchmark 66 (1610m, total prize money of 35,000 AUD), Do It For You (4 yo Gelding, by Harbinger) and Boy Loves to Run (4 yo Gelding, by Wrote) competed, and in the Maiden Race (1410m, total prize money of 35,000 AUD), Kaytee Bold (3 yo Filly, by Pride of Dubai) raced. Although we didn’t achieve victory, Daiki reflected on the day, saying, “Today was a frustrating day. Both Do It For You and Kaytee Bold couldn’t secure their paths. However, all three horses showed growth and potential for the future. We want to make a comeback.”
In the remaining Grafton races Vetoed (4 yo Mare, by Maurice), Boulanger (4 yo Gelding, by Maurice), and Kaytee Wisdom (2 yo Filly, by Headwater) are scheduled to run. Additionally, we are considering running Kaytee Bold again. This event attracts attention from all over Australia. Looking forward to racing in the historical event.
