The Northern Rivers region of New South Wales, where the Ballina Racecourse is located, usually experiences a lot of rain during the autumn months of March to April. However, this year, the rain has continued unabated into May, significantly affecting horse racing events. Racing has been canceled due to the condition of the track, and there are restrictions on galloping on the grass tracks, while the sand tracks are also waterlogged, posing challenges for training.
Trainers in the area are all facing similar conditions and are struggling with the situation. However, at Japanoz Stables, we are adapting by racing at venues such as Ipswich, Gold Coast, and Sunshine Coast racecourses in Queensland, where the track conditions are more stable. They are also scheduling training sessions early in the morning to mitigate the effects of the rain. While racing at unfamiliar race tracks may present its challenges, we are actively seeking out races where it has a good chance of winnings.
