Bahamut came into my care as a yearling, and his growth and successes have made great strides for the stables. He is a friendly and gentle boy and has become a very dearly loved member of our stable staff.

At the age of two, when he was immature in body and mind. At three years of age, when he tried his luck at the big races with the aim of running in the Derby. At four, he came second in a race at Randwick ridden by jockey James McDonald, who was also voted the world’s best jockey. At five, when he overcame a throat operation and won in the Brisbane Metropolitan race. At six, when he came back from a luckless run in the Ballina Cup and then went to win at Ipswich. I’m looking back on it now and I’m so impressed with the story Bahamut has given me.

Bahamut is now with Shaune and Mel who were the co-owners of him. He will firstly be helped to relieve the pain of his injuries, and then he will live a peaceful equine life, receiving warm love and affection. We are extremely proud of the wonderful horse we have found and had the journey with. We hope that with the opening of the ace slot in the stable, new promising horses will emerge and take over his achievements.
